  • Press F2 button to rename the file.
  • Add .Test as the selected file extension.
  • Once you have renamed the file, reboot the system.
  • Finally, try opening the company to determine if renaming the file fixed the error.
Solution 2- download and run tool hub
  • Download the latest QuickBooks Desktop, click QuickBooks Tools Hub.
  • Next, go to the download folder and double-click on the QBToolHub.exe file to start the installation.
  • Make sure to select all positive options.
  • Finally, click Finish.
  • Double-click the QuickBooks Tool Hub Launcher to launch it.
  • Next, select the “Program Problems” option from the left sidebar of the Tool Hub.
  • In the Program Problems tab, press LMB to run "Quick Fix My Program".
  • The Windows Command Prompt will appear during the repair process.
  • Finally, try opening your company file again to verify if the Quick Fix My Program File repair process works.
Solution 3- Run QuickBooks file doctor tool, from tools hub
  • Open the Tool Hub on your system.
  • Now go to the Company File Issues tab in the Tool Hub program. You need to select the Run QuickBooks File Doctor option.
  • File Doctor will take up to a minute to open.
  • Once File Doctor opens on your screen, you need to click on Browser to search for your affected file.
  • Further, choose the Check your file option (the middle one) and then click on the Continue button.
  • Moving forward, now enter your username and password if required and then tap on the Next button.
  • Reboot the system after the process is completed.
Solution 4- Copy the Company file to another location
  • Open Windows Explorer and then press Windows + E key and navigate to C:\ drive of the system.
  • Create a new folder in C: drive and then name it QBtest123.
  • Open the folder where the company file is located.
  • And then right-click on the .qbw file and then tap Copy from the drop-down list.
  • You need to paste the file into the newly created files.
  • Also, set Windows access permissions for company file shares.
  • Next, open QuickBooks Desktop and then open the file from the new location.
Solution 5- Using UNC path filename instead of using the mapped drive
  • First, right-click on the QuickBooks icon and then press and hold the Ctrl key.
  • Then select Run as admin option from the drop-down list.
  • Then press and hold the Ctrl key and open the No Company window.
  • Then select Run as admin option from the drop-down list.
  • Then press and hold the Ctrl key and open the No Company window.
  • Go to File and then select Open or Restore Company, and also open the company file. After that, click Next.
  • You need to select Network from the left pane.
  • Then go to the folder location of the company file.
  • The last step is to set the folder permissions and then open the company file.
Solution 6- Cleaning the blank spaces after the company name and before the company file extension
  • Initially, you need to log out of the QuickBooks desktop software application on the systems where QuickBooks is open.
  • The next step is to go to the QuickBooks company file and open it.
  • Go to the QuickBooks company file, you need to right-click on it and select the Rename option.
  • Select the name of the company file and enter it. Also, check that it does not contain any spaces, and then remove all spaces between the file extension and the company name.
  • Open the QuickBooks Company file and create it.

  • You must configure the firewall port settings to Automatic.
  • Manually configure exceptions for all firewall ports.
